Re: [fast5] new to fast 5

When you shake and are light-headed, is your blood sugar actually low?

I ask because most of my life I had "low blood sugar" episodes. But when
I actually finally got a glycometer and tested my glucose levels ... they were
HIGH at the time I was feeling bad. It turns out that for many people, the
"low blood sugar" symptoms are actually "high cortisol". The body pumps
out cortisol to try to raise the blood sugar when it drops, and
sometimes over-reacts.

If you seriously do have lack of blood glucose though, I'd guess either
you don't have much in the way of glycogen stores, or your body has
a hard time accessing those stores. Fasting trains your body to access the
glycogen, but your body might have a difficult time doing it.

Vinegar helps some people with this ... I'm not sure why, but acetic acid
interacts with glucose handling somehow. Try adding some vinegar to
water before a workout or putting it on a salad with dinner. The Roman
soldiers were big on vinegar mixed with water ... actually they added
honey to it too usually, but just vinegar and water works pretty well.
Adjust the amount to taste ... probably about 1T per glass of water.

Another thing that sometimes helps is MCT, though it should not be taken on an
empty stomach (use 1T of it instead of of oil, in a meal, or use coconut
oil instead of olive oil, say).

However I have a couple of questions............I find I get hypo sometimes if I am working physically , ie shake and light headed.
This is usually after 2pm........
So I have decided to have my five hours from 2pm until 7pm. is this ok??
Also if occasionally I had a lunch invite for 12noon that day I would change my five hours from 12 noon until 5pm..........and revert back to my 2pm start the next day..........
it means I always have a five hour window of eating but occasionally move it forward or backward, ie probably once a week.
Hoping to get my weight down again and increased health benefits.

I'm afraid my email went crazy and I'm afraid it may have been hacked. if you get a strange email that starts with "greetings from Carol" or something similar, please don't open it!
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Blessings,

It is so good to measure if you can.  Do your neck - it is very telling and tracks right along with your waist for loss.  I have lost 14 inches since Oct. (ha-not just in my neck- all over).
