[fast5] No tea for me

Hello group,

I fell off of Fast-5 and gained back weight, so I am going on it again. It does really work.

One problem I notice is that I cannot drink tea in the morning without food. I am caffeine sensitive and I shake if I try to have tea. And I can't take tea in the evening. So no more tea.

I need to do my eating in the evening, because dinner is so social for me, I need my social life!

The other problem I have is eating sweets. I think it's better if I lay off sweets, even on fast-5.

Of course, if anyone else here can handle caffeine in the morning, or sweets, go for it!

How are you all doing?

- Tamara

How to Lose 35 Pounds Without Dieting

Bittman has shared his new food mantra with the masses in his latest book "VB6: Eat Vegan Before 6:00." It's a simple plan that anyone can follow, he says in an interview with The Daily Ticker.

"What the science is really telling us is that we don't eat enough plants," he says. "We eat too much junk food. We eat too much meat. We eat too many animal products in general. The whole strategy is shifting a portion of your diet – not all of it – but a tolerable part of it to plants."

thanks!  "not gaining" is a huge victory, especially as we get older!

Sam, how has the F5 way of eating changed your health/weight over the two years you've been practicing it? thanks!

[fast5] Re: new to this

hi and welcome to fast five. I've been a fast fiver for about two years and love it. I noticed replies were centered on your low/high sugar and not answering specific questions you had about your window. fast five is about eating during a five hour window and fasting for 19 hours. it's not only ok to set your own window but I think it's necessary to find a window that works for you or you won't be able to stick with it. my window is 11am to 5pm. that's a fast six lol. but it works for me. and if I have a dinner invite for a little later, I push my window to 12 or 1pm. do what works for you and you will be successful.

[fast5] Re: new to fast 5

hi paul

Good to hear that you found out about fast 5. I have found that during the first couple of days of adjustment the hunger pangs went away if I drank water. With me hunger turned out to be thirst. Take care of drinking enough but don't overdo it.
I also decided to throw away the scales and not check the weight every day. It was a great feeling to notice that clothes were getting too big. No scales needed and more peaceful in my mind when the figures were not 'good'

take care
Miriam
