[fast5] Re: A newbie finds FF is working

Dr Herring has said on this forum in the past that he suggests a late window because it allows you to go to sleep after your window. That gives you time while you sleep for your insulin levels to normalize and you don't notice if you feel hungry. But he's also said that as long as you get in 19 hours per day, that's what matters. Many people here have had great results eating in the morning.

Thanks Bunny!

I'm reading the ebook now, but can you tell me (in advance :) why Herring recommends delaying the eating window to between 5 and 10PM? I would not sleep if I ate that late.

So far I've been able to move the beginning of my eating window from 10AM to 12:30/1PMish. This allows me to eat with my hubby. Is this an acceptable eating window time-frame? I'm still fasting the rest of the time.

[fast5] Looking for help from old timers!

I've lost about twenty pounds since January 1 using a one hour window, but I'm thinking about extending my window because I know over the long haul (the rest of my life) it's going to make more sense. I'm just afraid that I'll stop losing weight. Does anybody have any experience with changing their eating window time? Does it follow that less fat will be burned?

Hi Lisa,

There is a book, it is free, amazingly enough. Go to www.fast-5.com, and www.fastfive.com takes you there too. The book is a pretty quick to read and it is really completely free to read. Best wishes!

I don't think I've posted anything here yet.  I've been following a LC/MP/HF diet since last summer.  Initially I said goodbye to 10 pounds, but then they came right back.  I admit I was cheating on the weekends with alcohol or some form of carbs at a meal or two.  But then I was strict again during the week.

I found the bloodsugarthinktank group and that led me here and I think Heather here also gave me an early intro to FF on the gluten-free WAP group?  Anyway, I finally decided FF was safe enough and I was healthy enough to give it a try.  I've lost at least three pounds (my scales are ancient) in about a week without feeling anything more than a little hunger in the morning.

So I'm off to delve into the Files section of this group and discover whether or not there's a book to read, etc.  Just wanted to report my success.  I mentioned on the bloodsugar group this morning that I feel like I've finally cracked my body's code and detected how to get it to release excess fat.  WooHoo!  Hoping it continues!

Re: [fast5] weight loss?

I agree. Also allow a month for things to settle down. You body is going through an adjustment period, and the hormones etc. need to adjust.

Basically - use the scale sure - but also use the fit of your cloths - if your cloths are getting tighter - THEN freak.

I,m on my third day of F5, trying to find a good window for me and adjusting. I was a little disappointed this morning, got on the scale and gained a lb. I'm 53 YO female, 5'5", 141 lbs looking to lose 5-10 lbs. Is it normal to gain? I've beening tracking my calories on another online site and not going over 1100-1200 calories per day. I exercise 15-20 lb mod-vig 5 x wk (walk up stairwells a work). Any suggestions or advice??
