[fast5] OT - Heather - do you raise chickens?

So, you have goats…  do you have chickens as well?

I’ve just gotten this wild hair to raise chickens, both for meat and their eggs.

We live in the country and have lots of space.  We have raised pheasants just for the heck of it for a few years so we do have the equipment to start them little chickies…

Re: [fast5] Re: Newbie

Well, you may or may not be able to lick the dairy allergy. Depends what
is causing it. Angora goats MIGHT be ok for milking, but they are so hairy
I think it would be difficult. If you raised them though they would be
nice enough.
Mine aren't ... they are what is called around here "blackberry goats"
... someone
buys some cheap goats and sends them out to eat the berries. Very hardy
and tough, but not real friendly.

Our neighbors lost theirs though, when a cat jumped a 5ft fence. It's hard to
protect against those (unless you have an electrified fence!). BTW though,
angoras really don't CARE about electricity. The fur protects them. So
we have to tether them when they graze (they will also squeeze past most
fences).

They are fun to keep though, and great for the yard.

I love yogurt but find I react to it too. It might be that it is made with pasterised milk and that is the problem. Is why I am so determined to detox.... I heard that with each liver detox more and more allergies disappear.. Well I only have the dairy that I am aware of. (Sugar intolerance is different I think and I just stay away.) This programme is the ultimate way for me to detox because I can do it!!! : )

[fast5] Re: Just beginning ('good' of intermittent fasting)

It does help when I start showing results and I still maintain my workout regime. I can still run 6 miles and I feel great, and I still continue to do crossfit. It will be allot easier to convince people when they start seeing the results on me. Also the money saving aspect of it gets a few of them intrigued.

RE: [fast5] Re: Newbie (consuming good fat)

Butter would work; I have almond butter.

I just eat it at the time I start feeling sleepy.

Then I have to reduce the amount of fat I'd eat later on...

Hi Karen,

You mean like butter? I do eat quite a bit of fat already in seeds and nuts.

[fast5] Re: Just beginning ('good' of intermittent fasting)

rescswmr35-

First, congrats on your first week!

Second, I have not heard any negative things that hold up to critical thinking or study of Fast-5. I've heard the usual, "what about starvation mode" questions or, "Oh my blood sugar fluctuates too much-I need to eat" stories. Most health problems that people have that they use as excuses as to why they can't do it are actually FIXED by doing it! But the more I learn about it, the more I can't really find any real problems with it... well besides social situations where some people just won't understand what you're doing. But health-wise I can find no faults with the plan.

The free Fast-5 book has lots of good health information as does www.theIFlife.com and www.marksdailyapple.com. www.eatstopeat.com is an elaborate infomercial but it has a lot of good science on the subject as well. Dr. Herring is always available here if you have any specific questions. He's a wealth of information.
