I'm with you Susie! Maybe we can support each other through this?

This is Day 9 for me. I've lost two pounds so far (the same 2 pounds I've been losing over and over!), so I'm not too excited yet by my progress. Luckily, husband is supporting me, even though he does continue to eat all his meals.

The one thing I really miss is breakfast, so I think I will have to change some of my break-fast meals to be eggs, bacon, coconut pancakes, and all.

The other thing that I keep noting is that I keep getting physical signals that I am full, but my brain keeps telling me to eat to get the variety it wants. I am finally feeling like I am eating a little less, but not by much!

I am happy to have more free time though to continue studying and not be preoccupied with figuring out what to eat or whether I "should" eat. What a relief.

Erica

[fast5] Re: Hello My First Day- Question Please, Help

Kirsteen,
I'm at about the same place you were when you started. I am at about 185 and saw your post. Congrats on your success! Would you share what your typical meal might be and also what you do for exercise?? I know it's a long road ahead for me and seeing your post is very inspiring!! How long have you been on the Fast-5??
At the present, I try to break my fast with a raw veggie or an apple to take the "edge off" the appetite before having a meal and then am working on making that meal a healthy one. Exercise has been a problem due to arthritis, but I want to add some stationary bike once I have mastered the transition phase.
I'm sure it's been awhile since your early days starting out, but any advice, comments, tips would be wonderful!
Many thanks in advance,
Susie

[fast5] Intro

Hi All,

I just started Fast 5 this Monday, although I have done intermittent fasting every once in a while before (not lately). My body seems to be adjusting slowly to the five hour window. The hunger comes in cycles!

My question to everyone is: if you have some sort of endocrine imbalance, has eating this way helped? I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid 1.5 months ago, and am wondering if Fast 5 made any difference to anyone else.

Thanks,
Erica

The key is to eat less than your body needs so it burns the excess already stored. Fast-5 helps do that by getting the appetite right for slow, steady weight loss and leads to a lifestyle approach to simple weight maintenance.

So, are we supposed to eat the whole 5 hours or are we supposed to eat according to hunger? I'm afraid about metabolism slowing if I don't eat enough. Any suggestions or tips please...

[fast5] Re: Hello My First Day- Question Please, Help

Thanks Kirsteen, Wow congrats on the wight loss. You know it's so hard to try something like this when all you've been hearing is "eat every 3 hours, or your body goes into starvation mode and your metabolism crashes". I'm so glad to hear that that is not the case. Thanks
