[fast5] (Lemon water) Re: Help, advice, once again...?

Oh yeah, that's gotta be in the neighborhood of 25-30 caolories per container! It takes roughly 7 grams worth of carbs to set off an insulin response, which is about 28 calories.

Thanks for the label contents, that sounds about right. Though your ingredients list actually contains lemon juice. I've seen them not even list lemon juice at all!

RE: [fast5] Diet Pepsi (Merz)

Maybe, since you ARE nursing, your body is aware of this and hanging on to every last drop, so to speak…

Maybe you need to eat more during your window.

The thing with me is, I don't know how to do anything else but fasting and F5. Before even getting preggo last summer, I pushed it a little bit farther with water fasting. I think I'm addicted to fasting, I was seriously contemplating fasting while pregnant, but couldn't find enough research to support that. And I even attempted fasting while currently nursing but as I said earlier, that the diet pepsi doesn't seem to be making me lose weight.

cheers,
Merz

RE: [fast5] Re: Newbie

Did I share here yesterday about eating some fat (peanut butter)
post-morning cuz I was falling asleep after I ate my protein pancakes? I
was amazed! Since I chose to fast today (after I broke my 12-hr fast), no
crashing (getting sleepy) since I ate nothing mid-morning as I sometimes do
(I am not currently Fast5ing).

When you say, 'eat quickly', does that mean get something in your system
fast?

Is there a specific 'something' that you aim towards eating when you feel
that way?

Hi Ellen,

Thanks for the input. I have learned when my blood sugar is getting too
low... how it feels... so just eat quickly. Was just a bit nervous to
deliberately go fasting cos am very busy and hate feeling weak. I probably
fell asleep yesterday in reaction to it... but felt so fantastic the rest of
the day that didn't even need to eat a meal the rest of the day! Stayed
strong and alert.

RE: [fast5] Re: Newbie (Chelly)

Oh Chelly... I would believe what you put in your shake! I didn't get
specific w/mine, but all that I listed for my first meal, is all blended in
the blender and drunk!

Fruit, tons of greens, flax seed, protein, almond milk.

Sounds like you're on your way!!

Thanks Karen!

Great to be here. : )

3:30 - 8:30 is nice. I am doing 1 - 6pm at the moment but will push it along
a bit I think. But slowly as I can. I am pretty interested in food by 1pm!!!

Interesting about the carbs. I react that way too. Maybe I had too many
raisins. Could be. I ate oranges then eggs and finished with raisins. I see
what you ate... pretty healthy. I think I need to add salads more. I do make
a fruit porridge with all kinds of things in like herbs and spices and put
20g protein with a powdered shake I have. You won't believe what I add to
it! and just liquidise it in wild berry juice.

I have to tell you... I love this!.. already... even though only day 2. I
believe I am going to get healthier and healthier with this eating
lifestyle. Super reading how everyone is doing. I am very thankful to Dr
Herring for putting this out. His book makes so much sense.

Chelle

RE: [fast5] Re: Newbie (Ally)

Thanks for posting, Ally!

I have two more days of my antibiotics then I can consider Fast5ing again!

As it is, since today was not a weight lifting day, I chose to fast after my
morning antibiotic dose. I'm doing fine.... so glad to have learned that I
won't DIE if I 'miss' a meal!!!

I think it's important to eat a healthy diet and since the window of eating
is shortened, I like to get my healthy food in first....salads,
fruits/veggies, lean protein and then if I eat 'crap-food' afterwards, I
don't beat myself up about it, as long as it's in my window. This, for me,
is the beauty of this program.....you can eat whatever you want. This is
what 'fuels me' (pun intended) during the day.

As an aside, I love that I'm not a slave to food anymore. I am no longer
afraid of feeling hungry---I kind of like it. It makes me feel light and
energized.

Love hearing from all of you each day!!

Ally

RE: [fast5] how many calories during 19-hr fast - was: (Lemon water)

(as I have pondered this post today, I’m recalling that we are ‘allowed’ up to 10 calories during the fast?  Is that correct?)

Hi Karen,

My understanding is that on the fasting part of fast5 it should be only 0 calorie beverages. Slowly working up to the full 19 hour fast is best if you are having a hard time. My understanding is that it is best to have a period of no calorie intake at all.

Sharron
