I'm pretty sure you are asking the wrong crowd...if any of us felt that way, we wouldn't be doing this. :)

That is a study they did on the metabolism. From the conclusion:

"In association with this increase in lipolysis in the early stages of
starvation there is a small rise in resting energy expenditure, but this reverts to a decreased energy expenditure after 72 h without food."

Translation: In association with the increase in fat-metabolism, the initial stages of starvation show an increase in metabolim, up until 72 hours.

Hopefully I read that right. That was, of course, rats. So it's somewhat inconclusive until they do the same for humans.
