i have been in fast 5 maintenance mode from sept 2009 to may 2010, going off on the weekends and on during the weekdays. my diet mostly consisted though of carbs, so that may be the main reason why (in breads, fruits and vegetables). i would notice significant jumps in energy after i break my fast and while i am consuming food, and it would last until late at night (12-5 window). in the morning i would feel very groggy and would not feel motivated to do much until i had a bit of food in my body.
