Hi Rick. Since you watch for low glycemic index food, do you have a recent updated copy of what is on it? I have a list that is abot 10 years old that shows all foods and how they break down on the glycemic index. It has been very helpful for me, but I know that things change over time so I have been looking for something more recent and trustworthy?
Thanks Jennifer

But I am very physically active so I eat fruit and tubers to replenish liver and muscle glycogen. I don't eat bread or pasta and rarely have any processed foods. Lately I've come to realize that my body likes seafood and fish along with lots of vegetables. On days when I don't exercise, I don't eat fruit or tubers. Also, I only eat one big meal rather than grazing for five hours. I find that five hours of grazing makes me gain weight, even if it's eggs, meat, cheese, oil and butter.

I would go through a couple weeks of Fast-5 first, and then start listening to your body to hear what it needs. It WILL tell you. For example, I've had mostly big salads for dinner for the last two weeks but last night my body was screaming for dark, oily, rotisserie chicken. So I bought a chicken and had a couple of legs and thighs. Today the craving is gone and I feel like a big green salad would be good again. Fast-5 is great for tuning the mind to be more perceptive to what the body needs. But if you're insulin resistant, your body is just screaming for anything it can get. I would try Fast-5 and just try to eat good, clean, balanced food within your window for a while. Your body will calm down and start talking to you and THEN you can decide whether or not try Atkins if you feel that that's right for your body.
