Re: [fast5] Fast-5 Diet & Atkins

I ve never done it but I've heard that if you do low carb and Fast-5 together, you lose a lot of weight and you lose it quickly.  It's like they turbocharge each other!

Just be sure to eat lots of non-starchy veggies to keep your nutrition balanced.  Some low carb advocates believe you don't even have to count the carbs in non-starchy veggies because they naturally regulate insulin by their composition.  If you take this approach, count beets and cooked carrots as starchy veggies (they are actually high in sugar, not starch).  Raw carrots are non-starchy though.  The other starchy veggies you have to count are: potatoes; corn; beans (string beans okay); peas; lentils; winter squash (pumpkin, butternut, acorn, hubbard).  Pretty much everything else is non-starchy.

Good luck and let us know how you're doing.

Steve

Subject: [fast5] Fast-5 Diet & Atkins

Hi, my name is Erin.  I am going to be doing the fast-5 diet together with the Atkins diet.  I have PCOS & insulin resistance so I have to watch my carbs indefinitely.

I am going to start fast-5 tomorrow without Atkins just to get myself accustomed to one diet first.  Monday I will begin them both together. Does anyone else watch their carb intake in conjunction with fast-5?  I would assume that bot h diets together would be a double whammy on excess insulin.

I would like to lose between 65 & 70 lbs.  ;;)
