Re: [fast5] "The Shangri-La Diet"

I remember playing with the Shangri-La Diet a few years back.  If I remember correctly the tablespoon or so of oil you are supposed to consume was about 120 -130 calories and you were supposed to do that twice a day after not eating anything for an hour before the oil consumption and nothing for an hour after the oil.  Just by following that premise alone basically puts you in a position of eating only one meal per day.  I thought it was sort of like the "Hollywood Cookie Diet" or even SlimFast where you replace 2 meals a day with those products and then just eat 1 meal.

Of course the calories associated with the oil in the Shangri-La method goes against the Fast-5 premise of nothing more than 5 calories during your 19 hour fast.

Personally I like the idea of nothing in those 19 hours because then there is nothing to trigger your Limbic hunger and you draw your energy and your caloric needs from your fat supplies instead of from calories currently coming into your body.

Subject: [fast5] "The Shangri-La Diet"

Do any of you have personal experience with "The Shangri-La Diet"?  This could be done at the same time as Fast-5, and alternatively the author (not referencing Fast-5 though) said he ends up usually eating one meal a day as a result (i.e. the two are potentially complementary/in-sync).  The main idea of it is to add high-quality flavorless (or nose-clipped) oil IN-BETWEEN meals/flavors - or once a day - and that this easily reduces appetite. It's really fascinating.
