Well, tea caddies are really for tea leaves, not bags - so they have to be airtight to keep the tea fresh. Often when you buy quality loose-leaf tea here it comes in a decorative metal box, which you can then refill and reuse, or there are custom-made caddies, especially china ones. Of course, if you want choice of tea things, come to Britain. We have a huge traditional speciality china store where I live (York) which must keep literally millions in bone china in stock, much of it tea and dinner services. And of course there are the traditional tea-rooms - if you've never had Yorkshire tea and a Fat Rascal in Betty's Tea-Rooms in York, you haven't lived!

We do have a cookie jar though, though it's just a plastic thing with a sealable top these days. And I have a little jar for my tea bags. I didn't know there were special jars for that? Sounds like a very British thing!

There used to be one in every kitchen here in Britain - still is in many, including mine: just a container with the word "bread" written on the outside, to keep bread in! We have cookie jars too, but they're usually labelled "biscuits". And of course tea caddies.
