Re: [fast5] Re: rheumatoid arthritis

ya, too much to hope for...  My sis even asked me if there was something OTC for her Sjogren's or whatever Autoimmune disease is causing her joint pain, unfortunately, I had to tell her to just start some treatment.  She has and is feeling a lot better.  She is on Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil).

Wow, I really appreciate all the responses!

I have been gluten-free for more than 6 years, the RA showed up last May, so that's not it. I have done elimination diets hoping to find something else that is causing me problems; elimination of nightshades had no effect; I am currently not doing any dairy (although it causes me no adverse symptoms), and I have eliminated all sugar, including all fruit, to only mild improvement. I have heard about the gin-soaked raisins, they are sitting ready on my countertop, but I am afraid to try them because of the high sugar content. Also, my N.D. said he thought they might help arthritis because they contain MSM, a compound I have already tried.

I eat lots of meat, veggies, broth, and naturally fermented foods. I don't know what else to do with my diet, except the fast-5, which I'll probably continue even it it doesn't help, since it feels right. Actually I was thinking of going grain-free, unfortunately it feels hard to me, even though the only grains I eat are white rice and rice pasta. I have tried numerous supplements, too many to count, so far nothing has helped. I would love suggestions, though, as I am open to almost anything to stop the pain.

I had heard about apple cider vinegar, thanks for reminding me--I'll try that! And the alpha lipoic acid, I haven't tried that either.

I guess I was hoping someone would say, "Yes, I had RA, and it was gone after 6 months of fast-5!". Too much to hope for, huh?

Beth
