Actually, the source article from Psychology Today is even more reprehensible, since it's by a PhD (which we're presumably supposed to accept as a token of credibility).  I've posted a comment to the source article ("a strange anomaly"), describing my fasting regime and its beneficial effect on my physical and mental state, and asking whether the author believes a donut would further improve my condition.  I hope he understands the question is meant ironically!
