Your body can causea glucose rise by pumping out too much cortisol when it ishungry. This can cause high numbers, but it doesn't directlyhave to do with insulin resistance. It was one of those surprisesI found when I bought my glucometer! Most of the time my BGwas ok, but when I got hungry and shaky, it was HIGH. <<What is the best action to take if that happens?
Actually, doing Fast-5 is a great solution. That particular "shakiness" was the prod that got me doing IF. Someone told me that if I actually fasted more my body wouldn't do that. I didn't believe him. So I tried it. By golly it worked.
In the short run though, it's the pits to go through. Getting into Fast-5 gradually is probably better (I went cold turkey, and it was pretty bad. I yelled at everyone). Otherwise, I think snacking on something very low cal isn't a bad halfway-step: raw vegies. Or lemon juice tea. Exercise can work too, if you can manage it.
