[fast5] Affirmations/etc. re: Enjoying The Process

A bunch of people have requested the Affirmations I mentioned, so I'm
forwarding to the list the message (slightly edited) I initially wrote
in response to the first request.

Here are the affirmations I currently use.  Some of them I came up
with myself and some are from Louise Hay.  Usually what I do is say
them aloud for 5 minutes before breakfast and lunch.  If I'm in a
setting (for example cafe) that wouldn't appropriately allow for
speaking them aloud, I may write them or read them for 3-5 minutes.

"I am satisfied & free."
"Miracles happen every day."
"I am at peace with my own feelings."
"I nourish myself with spiritual food."
"I NOURISH MYSELF WITH LOVE."
"I deal with food in a relaxed, sane, healthy, enjoyable way."
"My food choices strengthen my vitality & well-being."
"My food choices strengthen my love & appreciation of my body."
"My food choices strengthen my body's lightness & vibrancy."
"My digestion functions perfectly."
"I have excellent metabolism."

Another practice that I started recently which I'm totally thrilled
about, is before I eat, before I drink, before I do yoga, before I
dance, before I go to sleep, before I start the day, et cetera, I set
the following
prayer/intention, by thinking/breathing these statements a few times
each:
"This _____ strengthens my body's lightness & vibrancy."
"This _____ strengthens my love & appreciation of my body."
"This _____ strengthens my vitality & well-being."
[ ____ is left blank or is filled in with whatever the thing is,
"food," "drink," "tea," "dance," "yoga," "night," "day," etc.]
I am particularly excited about this practice because it's tapping
into the fact that our BELIEFS are incredibly influential on our
experience of our reality.  It is SO liberating to let go of negative
limiting beliefs ("I can't get this right," "I'm a failure," "Fatty
foods make me fat," "I can't trust my instincts with food," etc.) and
replace them with empowering, enjoyable beliefs.

(Also, check out "The Slow Down Diet" book by Marc David if possible. I
got mine for $7 from a used bookstore -- definitely one of the most
important helpful things I've ever done in my life. It is a
revolutionary book going to the essence of our culture's
eating-disorder.  The whole culture has an eating-disorder, it is
definitely not just personal.)
