...and 7 pounds gone....and getting easier every day!
I wanted to wait until after the weekend so I could report on how I
did on my weekend retreat. It was a breeze! I stayed within my usual
eating window the first day and a half (3-8pm), and on the last day,
decided to move my window to 12-5 so I could share lunch with the
groups since it was our last meal together. It really wasn't an issue
at all. I sat with everyone at the other meals and had a cup of
coffee. I was able to eat dinner and snack at night with everyone.
When people asked why I wasn't eating at the other meals (and only a
couple even noticed), I explained that I was fasting for all but 5
hours/day. No one was all that shocked, LOL! Most just commented that
they didn't think they'd be able to do it without getting shakey or
cranky. I told them that those feelings went away within the first 3
weeks. It was very empowering to know that I could do this without
feeling deprived or uncomfortable. Now I know I'll have no problem
next week when DH and I go to Disney World. He already knows all about
this, so it's not an issue at all. I'm actually enjoying this WOE and
the freedom from planning and food prep, but mostly the lack of
compulsion to eat just because it's time or just because the food is
there.
Thanks to David and others who answered my question about having a
flexible 5-hour window. I'd like to stay with my 3-8pm window whenever
possible, but it's nice to know that it can be flexible for unique
circumstances.
