I have passed out due to exercise before too, only one time, but it is unforgettabe. So miserable both before and after!!! It was before I had even ever heard of fast 5. I was hiking a mountain when I got all the symptoms that susan mentions here. (which have all always happened to me right before passing out)
Most of the time I’m able to abate things about the same time the hearing goes..... (by lying down)
I was so shocked when it happened on the mountain because I have NEVER eaten before workouts ever. Believe me, after that episode, I’ve carried nuts with me on hikes ever since....just to be on the safe side!

Hi Eric,
I just wanted to add that I have been diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia, and when my blood sugar drops too low, my symptoms are nausea and fainting, which are atypical. I have had that happen once or twice during exercise in the past, before I was doing FF (although I had changed my diet fairly suddenly for the week or two prior to when it happened on at least occasion I remember).
I haven't had an episode in a while, because I'm more careful with eating sweets, which seem to put me a high/low pattern. I also am pretty aware of the early symptoms, and try not to let it go too far. I get nausea, clammy skin, my mouth starts watering, then tunnel vision, then the hearing goes . . . I truly hate passing out and avoid it at all costs, so when I recognize it, I lie down quickly wherever I am. I tend to get very low blood pressure at the same time, so low that it won't register on a blood pressure monitor. I know this because I passed out once while I was having a minor outpatient medical procedure (and I was lying on the table at the time!). So I don't know which causes the symptoms or whether it's the combination, or one causes the other.
I was tentatively also diagnosed as pre-diabetic a few years ago, but I seem to have gotten that under control with eating fewer carbs, and better ones, as it seems you have been doing. I have never taken meds, so I haven't needed to balance the effects of those with my eating.
I haven't done any strenuous workouts since I started FF, so I don't have any advice in that area. I do hope you and your doctor can get to the bottom of what's going on and adjust your meds or whatever you need.
My doctor didn't set me up with the glucometer, but I did buy one at my local drugstore. There is almost always a store running a "buy it free" deal on one model or another, sometimes with a few test strips included.
I really feel for you. It's not a nice thing to have happen. Best of luck to you in sorting it out.
Susie

<snip> Nausea and fainting aren't the most common symptoms of hypoglycemia, but I wouldn't rule it out.
