[fast5] Enjoying The Process

Hello,

Dr. Herring asked that I "shar[e my] experience and perspective," so
here's some of it.

I am very grateful to have discovered Fast-5. Many thanks to those who
have spread information about it, and I celebrate with those who feel
that it is helping them enjoy their lives.

I find myself in an interesting position these days of really Enjoying
The Process as opposed to End-Results.  Maybe there ISN'T really
end-results, because, guess what, if you haven't noticed yet,
everything is always changing. Our bodies ARE ALWAYS changing. If you
get to your goal weight, or if you are at your goal weight, your body
will be and is still ALWAYS CHANGING. This is LIFE.

As I shared a few weeks ago, this time around of trying Fast-5,
there's a few things I'm doing differently:
Most days (I'm flexible with this for social-eating or other
circumstances), my window is 8:30am-1:30pm, with the largest meal at
lunchtime. This is based on information Marc David presents in his
book "The Slow Down Diet" (which I really super-highly recommend) that
our metabolism is very linked with The Sun, and that our metabolism is
strongest when The Sun is highest in the sky (solar noon). Having a
morning-window does feel significantly different to me than having an
afternoon/evening window, and it feels good to me. Also, the
Flexibility is very important to me (changing the window for some days
if it makes sense to). The morning-window has also helped me to start
getting up earlier again, which means I have more time during the day.
As I've shared with this group before, I also feel like Fast-5
greatly helps with my creative work.

That being said, if you don't feel that a late window is working for
you, you may like to try an earlier window based on that idea. But I
really believe it's about what works for The Individual. I hope that
everyone trying Fast-5 knows that the idea of the plan is ANY 5-hour
window is fine; IT DOES NOT have to be in the evening, nor does it
have to be at a fixed time every day.

There are many other things that are part of my Enjoying The Process:
I say a set of eating affirmations before breakfast & lunch (I can
forward that list of affirmations to you if you like), I set a
prayer/intention of "complete vitality & well-being" with the food I
eat, I do a lot of Yoga, dance, etc.; and apply a number of profound
principles from afore-mentioned "The Slow Down Diet" book.

I don't weigh myself and have no intention of doing so. I am gaging
my progress by: do I have less (of course, ideally, NO) panic-attacks
about my body-image, am I more at peace with my body and with my
eating, I am enjoying being in my body more, I am happier with my
existence.

I wish every one of you complete well-being, and peace with food and your body.
