I have a variable eating-window - I usually determine it the day before (& before starting the window for the current day) according to what's most appropriate for my schedule, as well as for social-eating situations. It seems to work really well this way, and I would hope that anyone trying out Fast-5 would know that they are free to do have a flexible window if that works for them. Bert Herring (author of the Fast-5 booklet) has communicated that he sees no reason a variable-window wouldn't work as well as a fixed-window. It seems like having a flexible-window can be a really good way to address concerns people come up against about social situations, and of course also the different variables of our schedules and lives.
Personally I have experienced tremendous benefit from Fast-5 in ways other than weight-loss. Interestingly enough - I'm a musician, and I've found that doing Fast-5 has really tremendously aided my creative experience with sound. I'm curious if others out there have had similar experiences with whatever their fields are - that it's increased their immersion-experience in their field, to have that long period of time without attending to eating. I also feel that Fast-5 has been very supportive of a more expansive sense of peace.
This is my third attempt at getting past 3 weeks on Fast-5. (Yesterday was 21 days of this 3rd attempt.) I really feel this is the best food-plan for me presently, and I am putting forth my full intention that I can get over the 3-week hump I've come up against in my past attempts. I feel like if get to 4 weeks on this then that will be a significant shift for me.
Thanks for sharing your experiences, I am grateful for this newsgroup and very grateful for the information that is put forth about Fast-5.
Wishing you total well-being!
peace
