If you take it 30 minutes before the meal, it will kill your appetite quite a bit ... which could be a good thing or not, depending on where you are at. I tend to get full way too fast, so I take it with the meal or just before. If you take it after the meal, you might find yourself feeling very "overfull" because it does expand in your stomach.
