Re: [fast5] Need advise on interesting change with following fast-5

Have you tried digestive enzymes? I took HCL+enzymes for a couple of years before my digestion normalized. Some people just don't have the HCL to break down the food (and if  you are on acid blockers, then that would be one reason HCL is low!). Also eating ginger with a meal helps: you can get pickled ginger at the Asian store or make your own (thinly sliced ginger in rice vinegar, with or without some honey or other sweetener: it keeps forever). Ginger goes great with fish too!

Hi Heather. No not full as in bloated as in the food hasn't really digested. It is all just sitting there. I do have a VERY slow digestive system. This may be TMI, but once I go to the bathroom the feeling does start to dissipate. Also, I have kept a food diary for over 15 years trying to see what foods I do well with and what I don't.

I do have trouble digesting certain foods, like corn, peanuts, and lately cooked spinach. Basically it doesn't digest at all -- what goes in is what comes out again.

I am thinking that my digestion is getting slower instead of better using fast 5. As I think I may have said. April, May, Jun and the first part of July were great. No problems. Losing weight and inches just fine. No full feeling, etc. Then about mid to late July, this started happening.

I am basically a fish a terian.   I don't eat any red meat (can't stand it) or turkey. I can't eat any dairy of any kind (no cheese, eggs, milk products, etc) as I get really sick from dairy. Not sick like lactose intolerance either, more like I am passing stones through my digestive track.

I do best eating any kind of fish, vegetables, fruit, and grains.  Now I am wondering if something else is adapting to the fast 5 and my body isn't happy. Maybe I need to reduce how much I am eating. Or try and break fast earlier to give me more time to digest the food.

Sincerely

Jennifer Lupo, D.M.
