Re: [fast5] Re: BBC special on low carb

So not true at all (eating more) in my experience. Fat is sooooo satiating! And so healthy!
My health has improved so radically since incorporating the WAPF type of eating. Can’t recommend it enough :)

Butter, cream, coconut oil, etc. are all on the menu in liberal amounts

I can't recall which kind they used.

They did a study where they fed two groups of people the same foods but one set of people had added fat added to the food and the other group the food was lowfat.  Other than the added fat, the food looked the same so both groups thought they were eating the same food.  The group that had the fat added ate MORE, not LESS than the low fat group.  They didn't expect this, but aparently the added fat made the food taste better and that overran the satiety factor that fat is known for.

Bet they didn't distinguish between types of fat.    Saturated fat satiates me,  others make my hungry.

Protein!  The low carb diet is really a low calorie diet because the protein suppresses the appetite - almost like an appetite suppressant drug.  Fat, surprisingly stimulated the appetite.  They thought it wouldn't but apparently is makes food taste better so you eat more.  So he diet is successful when it is high in protein, moderate in fat,and low in carbs.

NOW you don't have to watch the video.

He did!

What's NOT Fat and NOT Carbs.

The clips are short, but in the end it's quite disappointing, as I think they gave fake results from a very flawed "study". Reading the comments under the YouTube clips will show that many didn't buy into the producers' story. They were silly enough to use as an example of Atkins, a study of High Carbs and High Fat. Video which sucks you in at the beginning, then disappoints at the end.
