[fast5] Re: low carb and fast 5

Hi and welcome..
Yep, I definitely eat "low carb" compared to the standard american diet, with no limitations on non-starchy veg. I don't eat grains, dairy or much fruit (half a banana with peanut butter per day is all, or some fresh strawberries with whipped cream, but not both)

i too started with Atkins but they ARE a bit bitchy over there (ha ha) and I wasn't losing weight after initally...I was eating WAY too much protein (which I love, proving to me that a lower carb diet works in my case) and gaining weight!

THIS plan is IT for me....I love it...every day is like this huge achievement when I get to break my fast and I WANT clean, healthy fare. It's so incredible the freedom and results I've gotten.

I stay FAR away from all grains, most dairy and most fruit. Low starch veggies do nothing bad, everything good to me.
I break my fast every a.m with a protein (chicken, fish, pork, turkey or eggs) and a giant salad, then graze on through the window from there, with peanut butter, veggies, fish and more veggies.

good luck. Carbs ARE kinda evil, but I can't either get on that bandwagon over there.
Read some posts by Dr. Herring here, and hear the difference in his approach. He's so much more MELLOW, for heaven's sake! :)
