[fast5] Re: Day 1 The first few days will be the hardest - Can you help me?

Since I started in March 2010 (192/187 -> 168/165*), my eating window has gone through all sorts of experiments and adjustments. I'm not sure exactly what could be concluded from my habits, but FWIW, I do best eating in the evenings. Possibly because I'm coordinating with my spouse, much like you coordinate with your son. :) But I think it's also just easier for me to wait to eat, rather than stop eating at a certain point.

Sometimes it's a full window, and sometimes it's just one meal. The less carbs, especially grain-based, I eat, the better I do all around (in terms of hunger, weight loss, and water retention) I've become a huge fan of foods I never really paid attention to before, as they keep me satisfied and energetic (italian sausage, well-marbled steak, bacon, and avocadoes are my favorites). I do let myself have candy without beating myself up because I've learned that a peppermint patty won't start my carb cravings up like grains do, and after 1-2 bites it doesn't taste as good as I thought. Cookies, however, are veeeery dangerous. Sugar + grain = 3-4 days of carb cravings.

*I track both my weight with water-retention and without.

I have a huge wardrobe full of clothes and after trying everything on and finding maybe 10 items that fit me it's time to take action. That and the fact I was 40 yesterday didn't help, I didn't like how I looked or felt.

I started baking and hey presto, before you know `who ate all the pie', it was me, and I couldn't seen to stop myself. I'm ashamed of myself now but I'm determined to get back in control of my life and food is the first step.
