I think you should learn to trust your appetite again. You have a very, very good chemistry set built into your body, and it knows how much you should eat. Babies do it automatically. Fast-5 tends to re-awaken that inner sense of what to eat, and it will vary from person to person and from day to day.
I know for me, I eat about half the calories that I used to. I eat one meal (intending to eat more later) but then I just can't eat more. But my body has plenty of extra calories stored, still, and it just doesn't need more food. So it isn't hungry.
There are some foods that do confuse my appestat, the big one being beer. I don't know why, although hops are closely related to pot, which is known for changing appetites. So to lose weight, I need to avoid beer: I've been doing that, and then losing weight more. Sugar though, isn't a problem, and rice isn't a problem, even though it is high carb.
Interestingly, there is a diet called the "Rice diet" which came about because a physician noted that when people ate rice with each meal, they tended to be healthier. I don't know if anyone has examined this effect scientifically, but my family all does better when we do rice with each meal, so it's become our staple. Easy and cheap too. Yeah, I know, it doesn't have a whole lot of vitamins, but it does have a fairly complete protein profile and it gets along with everyone's digestion, and by the time you add fish or eggs and vegies it's a great meal.

This diet is awesome because of it's simplicity. But I am curious if any of you know approximately how many calories you eat during your window? Is it ideal to stay within a certain range? How many is too much or too little? What would send your body into starvation mode?
