Hi T
Have you tried Metabolic typing to see which ratio of Fuel (macro nutrients) your body needs? We are all different. Zero or low carb may work for some but if your a mixed type or a carbohydrate type, which is possible, you just have to eat the right balance at your meal times to fix the problem.
Do some research on metabolic typing. You can combine it with your Fast 5. I am a Protein Type and my Hubby is a mixed type. I would do very well on an Atkins Diet of low carbs but I struggle to stick to it. The one occasion I did, I was grumpy for a few days while my body adapted, then my mind was a sharp as ever and I had limitless energy. To top it off I lost 7 lbs in 10 days without even trying and I didn't feel hungry at all.
I have a link somewhere for a free online metabolic typung test which asks 64 questions, including how certain foods effecy your energy levels.
Let me know if you need me to post it.
Take care
Lora
