I see you have already gotten a lot of great advise. I'll though my 2 cents in for what it is worth.
I started fast-5 after seeing a program on our news station. My official start date was April 1. I did some reading from Dr. Bert Herrings fast-5 website and downloaded the e-book so I would understand the program better.
My stats:
Female
5'3" (if generous)
43
formerly (225+)
currently (205)
I have battled my weight all of my life. The more I did what the doctors, nutritionists, dieticians, etc. the more weight I gained. I would work out with a personal trainer too. When I saw the news story about fast-5, and did my homework, I decided to give it a try. It was like "WOW" something that makes sense to me. This fits my lifestyle, my schedule, my hunger level even.
I have never been a big eater. I kept getting told I don't eat enough and therefore I was gaining weight. Yeah right!!!. That's why after starting fast 5, I dropped from a size 24 to a size 18 in my pants, went from a 3x to a 1x (maybe even large now) for shirts, dropped to around 205. Sure, eating more frequently makes you lose weight --- NOT!!!!! At least not for me.
I have always eaten a healthy diet, just because I naturally like veggies, fruits, grains, and such. I can't stand dairy and animal products other than fish. So, it wasn't what I was eating and I don't think it was quantity since I don't eat a lot to begin with (just never hungry). Don't care for cakes, candies, chips, and stuff either. Sooo, to make a long story .....too late.
For me, eating is about enjoying the meal I have and keeping it as balanced as possible. I will make stuffed peppers stuffed with sweet potato and spinich with poached salmon for a dinner. I make quinoa for my rice/pasta substitute. I basically cook as much as possible from scratch. My desert is usually some extra dark veggie greens like broccoli mixed with blueberrys and some fresh ground cinnamon.
This is just some of what I eat, but I make a lot of different things. Recently made my version of a veggie burger --- mmmmmmm --- it came out really good. :)
So keep with it. Stay strong, you can do it. Just make it fit your schedule and don't worry if you slip here and there. Just come back strong the next time.

Subject: [fast5] Day 1 The first few days will be the hardest - Can you help me?
Hello All
I have been a lurker for an embarrassing amount of time. Always I've had an excuse or simply no will power to complete the first week. I tend to stumble getting into the Fast5 groove and then I say I'll start tomorrow and tomorrow never comes.
So here I am again, trying again, 40lbs over the weight I want to be and I hate it. I have a huge wardrobe full of clothes and after trying everything on and finding maybe 10 items that fit me it's time to take action. That and the fact I was 40 yesterday didn't help, I didn't like how I looked or felt.
I have no support network and no friends remotely close by having moved to a new area. I hope you guys can help.
My Stats:
Female
5,9
Large frame
190lbs
All medical stats from the Dr are normal apart from my body fat percentage which is close to 38%! In other words obese.
I'm hoping the Fast5 can help me rein in and control me eating. I had a pretty horrendous year last year which automatically makes me turn to food for comfort. I started baking and hey presto, before you know `who ate all the pie', it was me, and I couldn't seen to stop myself. I'm ashamed of myself now but I'm determined to get back in control of my life and food is the first step.
My window is 8am to 1pm. This allows me to eat breakfast and lunch with my Son. Eating late does not work for me as I tend to be too hungry and lose control.
Can you help me by posting what/how you eat through your eating window? It would be very much appreciated.
Thanks you for reading.
Lora
