Me, pretty much the same stuff I made when I wasn't GF.
They are GFCF, but we do use grains: pies, brownies, crisps.
If you want to go grain free totally though, I'd go with a compote,
esp. this time of year! Really easy, naturally grain-free,
and yummy. You can top them with roasted nuts if you
want, but it's not required. You can use egg yolks for a thickener
maybe? Most recipes call for corn starch, which is a grain,
though not all that much of it (and arrowroot works too, which
is not a grain).
That or coconut milk ice cream, which everyone loves! Except
for a few carmudgeons who don't like coconut. You can make
coconut milk custard too ... it's mainly coconut milk and eggs.
Or keep it really simple and make a bunch of home-roasted
nuts, which are to die for. Soak the nuts in some salted
(and/or seasoned) water, then roast them til they are just
slightly brown and tasty. You need to keep an eye on them,
but they always taste good.
Plain fruit makes a great dessert too, but most extended
families don't regard it that way, unfortunately.
