[fast5] Re: question on low blood sugar readings and crashi

Hi Lynn,

I agree with Sharron but with a caution. As a long time Type 2 diabetic I sometimes get very low blood sugar when I fall off the fast5 wagon - between 40 - 80. The low blood sugar is very dangerous. I would suggest that if you don't stabilize pretty soon do see a DR. who specializes in treating diabetics. You may have it and not know it.

I do eat low carb and am mostly grain free and control my protein and high purine foods. My body took time to lower the insulin in my blood so my sugar doesn't go to low. I hope that my body is repairing itself from the insulin resistance. Getting plenty of sleep in the begining helps. I found for me walking around when my blood sugar is low helps bring it up a bit. Ease into the fast. Anything that you consume can affect your blood sugar even 0 carb.

This is all done with excellent food choices like grassfed meats, raw cream and butter, coconut oil, liver etc. Eating sat. fats is not a problem and make up the bulk of my fat calories.

This eating a weston price little to no wheat. My glucose readings after eating are high but never diabetic. But they're slowly rising over the years.

I can feel it....this is exactly what prevented me from sticking to fast5 during the school year. I had attributed it to job stress but no stress now so clearly not related.
