Thanks Ellen for the reply,
Yes it does explain why I wasn't able to do this at school. It always felt like way too much and I get slightly out of control feeling. Not a good way to be around teenagers let me tell you.
I sure would like to figure this out before I go back to work in August.
For the last 2 weeks I've been narrowing the window down but using weak tea with lots of cream in the morning or sometimes just cream. That would work to but my glucose does go up to 100 or little higher an hour after. Two hours after it goes down to the 80s.
On stress....yes I absolutely am sure that's huge for me. Really, really huge. I think teaching under no child left behind has really done a number on my adrenals. I'm in the middle of Nora Gedgaudes's book "Primal Body, Primal Mind". She totally into a high sat fat dietlow carb for the mind. She also uses neurofeedback to deal with mind stuff and I'm looking for an Atlanta practioner to go to as soon as possible.
Also another clue on stress is I've noticed the low glucose readings will make me so sleepy. If I nap and then test when I wake it's always higher. If the nap makes me feel really good the number is usually much higher.
Your comment on it taking a month or so to adjust might be it. I've been fairly low carb but with "mistakes" when there's cake or other garbage at school. So that was up and down at times. I've been really low carb 100% for the past 3 weeks slowly working into this by using cream and high fat milk in weak tea in the morning and sipping that until around 12 or 1 when I would eat. This past weekend I started really trying to hold out until 12 and decided to glucose test.
Maybe my body is really going to take awhile to move into this. I've got another 7 weeks I can control my timing so hopefully I'll be set by August.
On the apple cider vinegar ...yes I did take it on an empty stomach. I was doing this regularly but then having my tea/cream combo afterwards so I never noticed a drop. The drop could make sense but I didn't feel like it until after 2 hours. Yahoozers...going to the 50s in blood sugar is quite a crash feeling.
Thanks
Lynn
