This is one of the problems with weight loss ... you
can be VERY VERY fat and still not have much glycogen.
The body doesn't store very much of it at all. Actually you
can train your body to store more -- Navy Seals do that by
fasting and working out at the same time! -- but your
average couch potato's body relies on the potato chips
for constant glucose input.
Doing Fast-5, your body will probably learn to store and use
glycogen better. But it's not an overnight process.
You can also train your body to use ketones and convert
protein to glucose ... but that's not an overnight process
either, and I'm not sure some people ever fully adapt. Your
average Inuit, at least in the past, could do quite well with
few if any carbs. And so can your average tiger. But their
bodies are great at turning protein into glucose. Using ketones
only is something that doesn't happen in nature long-term.
> -----> Well that's pretty interesting...never thought of increased hormones in cream vs milk. I'll experiment here and see. I've actually never seen much of a reaction to dairy. I can't tell off or on it any difference nor ever tested allergic to it. But this may be triggering stuff right now so worth a try.
Mammal fat is actually the storage mechanism for *many* chemicals ...
you ever hear of "fat soluble vitamins"? This can be a good
thing or a bad thing, depending on where the fat came from.
I worry about it some because fat is probably where a lot of
the antibiotics and feed additives etc. in cows ends up. Also
for grass-fed cows, there might be stuff like, say, mercury
or dioxin that that spewed by some factory upwind. It's even
been a problem for the Inuit, who eat seal fat, which these
days of full of PCB's. The PCB's come out in the mother's
breast milk and injure the babies' brains. Bad stuff.
Anyway, I don't know exactly what it is in cream that sets
off my head. The only things besides dairy that does that
are polyurethane varnish and orange oil. Go figure.
Also, when your body breaks down YOUR fat, the chemicals
that are sequestered in it will get into your bloodstream.
This has been a problem for killer whales ... their is dioxin
in their fat from pollution, and it gets dumped into their
blood when they don't get enough food, in rather toxic
amounts. Which is a good argument for losing weight
at a moderate rate, and drinking lots of water!
