Re: [fast5] Re: question on low blood sugar readings and crashi

Heather mentioned exercise and I had been thinking about that too.  It can really help lower and/or stabilize blood sugar.  I had been doing an Ashtanga yoga class once a week.  Occasionally doing a little yoga or other exercise  on my own on other days.  Tried adding slow burn type routines, but they say you need at least one day of rest in between.  And I had the feeling that I needed something everyday  to affect the BG and couldn't seem to find the right thing for me.  Just recently someone on another group reported the excellent results (in BG) he had with doing kettlebells, very short sesssions maybe 5 minutes, three or four times a day.  Using a heart monitor to be sure he got his heart rate up.  No longer needed his meds.

So I got both the book and DVD called From Russia With Tough Love along with an 18 lb kbell.  The kbell came about a week later (yesterday) and I have been practicing daily using a dumbbell, short sessions everyday./Sometimes two or three sessions.  I am seeing an a very noticeable trend downward as well as a much tighter range for my BG.  I am so excited about this because it was looking like I couldn't get below 100 without meds, but this morning it was 91!!.

Be aware though that the numbers go up and down a bit....you need to look at averages to see the overall trends.

In case you do consider Kbell, i would recommend getting both the book and DVD above as  they compliment each other and you do need all the information to make sure you have the right form  so that you don't injure yourself.  The routines  in this book are geared for women  with more leg work than upper body .  I am going very slow and cautiously, re-reading and re-watching to correct my form and that seems to be working very well.  I feel like I could fulfill my needs with just the first five or six routines in the book.  It is a very efficient typed of exercise it seems.

I am reviewing Nora's Book for the WAPF journal.  Could be better written, but she pulls together so much important information that (IMHO) everybody should be aware of that it is  well worth reading.  The neurofeedback  might be just the thing to add to your mix.

---------> LOL you beat me to it! I was thinking of  reviewing it also. You'll write a much better one though with your diet changes and results.

I agree it could be written better but if you can get through the slightly too technical and  too simplistic parts it's excellent....chock full of good information. I'm just starting the neurofeedback part but from what I've seen on the web I'm impressed.

Nora has a radio program on Wed that's archived.
