A brief background is that the first of March, I stopped Fast5 because I had to eat with the med I needed to take every 12 hrs.
I found a mostly vegetarian diet to help me with the bad relationship I have with foods and, for the most part, felt great on it.
My tummy was upset often, however, and then I noticed loss of muscle tone, which I do NOT like.
The first of June, I got off the every-12-hr meds and tried Fast5 again.
On lifting days, however, I felt like my stomach was consuming my spine within 2 hrs of lifting and would break my fast.
The more I read, the more I felt like my loss of muscle tone was not enough protein. So the end of June, I switched my diet again to a more Zone-type diet, which increased my protein intake.
Tummy problems went away and I started noticing muscle tone; yeah!
My current plan is to stick with this style of eating, with the exception of Fast5ing on my non-lifting days, for about a month and try Fast5 again on lifting days.
Saturday, I ate horridly. It should have been a fasting day but I made cinnamon rolls for my kids for b-fast and I ‘heard’ a friend of mine ‘whispering’ in my ear that life was too short not to enjoy these cinnamon rolls… the rest is horrid history.
Sunday had to be a fasting day. And I decided I’d try for a 24-hr fast (but I did not keep track of when I ate last on Saturday…). I think I managed 22 hrs!
Another goal I met Sunday was to have no wheat (causes my joints to ache) and no sugar (I’m a sugaraholic!). Yeah me!
