Re: [fast5] How many calories/protein/carbs do you guys eat a day?

After you get used to the routine, most people find their appetite
automatically adjusts such that you eat more of what your body
needs. It's impossible for any person (or any book) to tell you
what your body needs ... and it will vary depending on other factors.
Like, you need more protein when you are building muscle.

One trend I've noticed in people's experience though, is that if
you eat too much starch and too little protein, you might experience
more hunger the next day. Since I fill up FAST on this way of eating,
I try to get my protein in first, otherwise I might skip it (esp. if I broke
my fast with, say, a brownie).

Also while you might feel that you will just gorge on "forbidden foods"
if there are no rules, that doesn't tend to happen to people. Your
appestat starts repairing itself, and most often the cravings go away.

If, after a month or two, you are still having problems and haven't
lost weight, you will want to revisit what you are doing and tweak
it. Dr. Bert discusses this in the book. But it's best not to start out
with too many rules ... just learn how to eat within the 5 hour window,
and see where that takes you. You'll most likely be pleasantly
surprised.
