[fast5] Re: Plant based diet

Hi Rob

I follow the fast 5 and am a plant-based Vegan however I do not follow the Furman diet (Eat to Live) strictly. Meaning that while I do my best to make fruits, veggies, greans and beans the mainstays of my diet, I also do enjoy protein isolate & concentrate powders (such as hemp, pea, rice, buckwheat, and soy), "meat" analogs (made from ingredients such as TVP, soy protein, wheat gluten and konjac) and whole grains, too. I'd like to have less of the latter (proteins & grains) but I do feel that they meet a need for me (my activities include martial arts, weights, running, and yoga).

That's impressive. While I am probably 50% fruitarian/raw (even more in the warmer weather), I never have made a fulltime shift. Maybe if I lived in a place like Hawaii or California, I would try but here in NYC I feel that during the cold seasons I am not suited for it?

Maybe that's just me though...

How did you fall off? Off of fruitarian/raw? Or off vegan?

I agree with you on the above although I vegan more for personal ethics & morals; is that a factor for you, too?

Best of luck

Paul
