| Hi Tealah. Welcome and best wishes for your success. I am ending up week 4, I am not an expert at all, but hopefully my posts as well as others will be motivational for someone who needs it. I do not count calories or try to eat in a certain way at all, I have tried all that before, done okay for a time and then I just can't keep it up. I have found that I eat less simply because I get full faster on less. That took some time, and I am not sure exactly when it happened, as I think I was bingeing at first, but I still lost a little. In the book it is suggested that even eating as much as you want you will probably eat about 500 calories less per day than you are accustomed to. Oh, even though there is a five hour window, I tend to eat just one meal and usually just a bite or two of whatever a little later or sometimes earlier than my meal. For instance, my daughter and I went to Olive Garden a few nights ago, and I ordered the stuffed chicken marsella which is served with mashed potatos and salad, and we ordered an appetizer of alfredo sauce to go with the breadsticks. I had water to drink because that is what I wanted, I ate the salad and then one breadstick and when my meal arrived I was only able to eat a few bites of the chicken and of course almost all of the mashed potatos. I did not want dessert, not even coffee. And that was pretty much it for the day. So I think if I was counting calories it would be much less than I was eating before this plan. The next day I ate my leftovers for dinner, but had some chips and coffee a little before dinner. We eat out a lot, but I also love to cook, and I am finding the same thing, I am eating well, just not as much. I am not encouraging anyone to avoid nutritious foods, just wanting to share my experience, as I have eaten enough nutritious foods to be well nourished for a long long time. :) I am not currently working out, but I do plenty of moderate housework, washing windows, vacuuming, scrubbing floors, running up and down the stairs, etc. I feel great and am looking forward to continued weight loss and I am very greatful to the author and his wife for their commitment to bringing this information to all and at no cost! Hopefully you will get more advice from others and you can pull together what will work for you to keep you healthy and get you to your desired weight.
