I love artificial sweeteners, I have eaten them my whole life. I finally realized, thanks to fast-5 and paleo that if I eat them I will get hungrier, and eat more carbs. So first I decided to only eat them in my window (avoid sugar and be able to eat if I am hungry - made sense to me.) Then I realized I was more likely to prolong my window, and eat more carbs, even if I had the AS in my window. Coffee, for me, works the same way. So everytime I want coffee, or a diet coke, etc I say to myself, "gateway drug." It reminds me that even though what I am wanting may be harmless in itself, it ALWAYS leads me to cravings, and often choices that are harmful.
