Hi. I am not an M.D. and so I am not professing this to be the best solution, but it is what I do.
First, you can have as much herbal tea as you want. This is because most herbal teas are 0 calories. I generally drink one called Black Cherry (yes I know a fruit one). This flavor for some reason reacts like a good throat lonsage (sp?) for me. I found it to be really, really good. Plus, like you I am never hungry especially when I am sick (well I am never hungry period, but that is a different story). So, the tea is a good filler for my stomach, yet light enough not to cause too many problems.
You can even take an empty ice cube tray, put the brewed tea in it and freeze it to make icee treats. Just put a toothpick in it before freezing so you have a handle to hold it.
I am looking forward to see what others suggest on this one as it never occurred to me.
Sincerely

Subject: [fast5] What do you do when you're sick?
I'm battling a pretty nasty cold right now and due to this am having difficulties fasting and am honestly dying for a throat drop as my throat is on fire.
What are the rules regarding when you are ill? Just do what your body is telling you? Have the throat drop and eat if I'm hungry? Or should I try to persevere and stick to my normal eating times?
Normally I'm not as hungry when I'm sick, and that's still the case, but I feel like such a space cadet and I don't think the fasting is helping my cause.
Any insight?
