You might start gradually ... move your break-fast back by 1/2 hour
each day. If that doesn't work, go for 15 minutes. I went cold-turkey and
was miserable for about a week, esp. the first 3 days. I don't recommend it.
Exercise and drinking liquid with something sour in it (vinegar or
lemon juice) seems to help me when I get like that too. Dunno
why, but sour foods seem to offset insulin spikes somehow.
Also, it seems to be easier if you have more protein and less starch
in the evening. Vit B also seems to help with spaciness for a lot of
people.
Last resort would be to use the Warrior Diet approach, which is
to eat raw vegies during the fasting period, at least during
initiation. When I first did IF it was with the Warrior Diet, in a
group of people. We ate raw fruits and vegies during the day,
so it wasn't a fast. But everyone, by the end of 5 weeks, was
skipping the vegies except to "participate" in group lunches
etc. So the vegies became a crutch to get past the first
few weeks, but we got into the fasting part pretty easily.
That isn't the Fast 5 approach at all, but it might be melded
in with the "move breakfast back" part to make life
livable.

Sunday morning I was back on track, however, I was spaced out all morning, it was hard to maintain a thought or hold a conversation because it seemed my mind wandered so much... I attribute that to the spaciness, I don't know what else to call it. When I did finally eat, as usual, I would try to eat slowly but even still it made me feel weird. Monday, I was just "out of it". I wasn't in that great of a mood, I was short with the kids, I couldn't seem to concentrate long enough on anything that required much thought, so I didn't get much accomplished as far as work goes. I seemed to be limited when it would come to having a discussion that required deep thought or explanation. I don't know what this is called, but I was doing things in a strange order...? For example, let's say I was getting up to go to the bathroom and I wanted to take my water bottle with me to fill it up in the sink while I was in there... simple task right? Well, I would walk into the bathroom, flip on the light, take the cap off of the water bottle, set the cap and the bottle on the sink, go to then go to the bathroom and think to myself... "why did I just take the cap off of the water bottle, I'm not filling it up until I finish going to the bathroom?" Just a weird confusion or something...? I don't know how to explain it...? It's like I'm completely distracted, but on what I have no idea... I just can't focus. I was extremely tired last night to the point of getting aggravated at the kids when they asked me for help with anything. Bottom line is I'm ready to quit, once again, this morning. I just can't do it... it's not worth it if I can't shake the confusion and spaciness. It's not something I can maintain. I drink water like crazy and it doesn't seem to make all of that go away.
