Well, I must confess - though without undue enthusiasm! - that I'm on the very brink of turning 60, and honestly I don't find the calorie-exercise-fat relation any different than it ever was. The fundamental reason that so many of us find (and statistics - those convenient liars! - confirm) that fat seemingly inescapably increases, and muscle + bone shrink, over the years is - overwhelmingly - the accumulative and pernicious effects of reduced physical activity. I happen to be one of the minority who continues to be addicted to strenuous movement, and as a result my body composition (as long as I continue to control those pesky calories) remains little different than it was in my 20's.
I've realised by now that activity-hounds like me are in a probably permanent minority, and heaven forfend that I should ever be guilty of tedious exhortation! That said, it's a fact confirmed both by much sound research that the effects over time of appropriate calorie intake + regular weight-bearing and muscle-loading exercise (even if not much more than regular brisk walking, climbing stairs, and shunning "labour-saving" devices) continue to produce the same - or even greater - "magical" benefits in our golden years as they did in the careless days of youth. Good news, I would have thought, though of course in the end it boils down to - use it or lose it!

Hey FF-ers! I'm a newbie (on day #3) and love reading all the success stories from everyone. When I read about this diet, I knew it was tailor-made for me! My window is 4 pm to 9 pm and I've had no problem whatsover with it so far. What I'm curious about are the ages of those who have had success with weight loss on this plan. When I was younger, it seemed that no matter what weight loss plan I used, I was always able to drop 10 lbs with little effort. But, since I hit the 50's, I've been struggling with 10-12 lbs no matter what I try! I've just turned 57 and I'm hoping the FF will do the trick.
