I am new to this as well but did it years ago when I used to be skinny :) Then and now I am actually doing 1 meal and some snacks and it is working very well I am super pleased with my progress.
I do notice that I am eating less, I eat out alot so it is easy to see. I am eating to satisfaction which for me is full but not stuffed. None of that "only eat till you are not hungry stuff " I am down about 6 lbs in 2 weeks which is much more than I expected.

Hopefully there will be more input on this it would be interesting to know what others are doing. Oh and my snacking..... Such as popcorn at a movie is only within my 5 hour window.
