Re: [fast5] I am going to Egypt

Tamara:  Egypt?  Pita filled with falafel, grilled liver, or beef schwarma, topped with hummos and tahini.  Lamb with yellow rice.

Ummmm, how I envy you!!

I am leaving for Egypt very soon, to work on an archaeological excavation. I have been there before, I am really looking forward to it.

I will be working in an isolated area, for about 2 months, then take 2 weeks vacation.

Last time I was there I gained weight. I have no control over what I eat, what we are all fed. The diet is high in starches with few vegetables, and occasional meat. A lot of the meat is processed. Of course I can pick and choose from what's on the table, but not a lot of choice.

No, I am not going to pack 2 months worth of food to bring with me. I have other equipment to bring.

Anyway, I am hoping the Fast 5 will help me cope with the food situation. My goal will be simply not to gain weight. I will loose weight when I get home.

Lunch is at 2:00 pm and dinner at 7:00 pm. I might do 2 meals, to be social. It would be about a 5.5 hour eating window. It's important for me to be social with my coworkers.
I've been doing this schedule roughly here at home before I leave. Sometimes I am busy or not that hungry and wait until 3:00 pm to eat.

I am still very new to Fast 5, and having 2 meals is fine.

Too bad I won't be in Egypt during Ramadan, it would be interesting to participate in that.
