I am adding to my previous post and updating my progress. Yes, I did read that weight loss will not begin immediately and I can see why. It is not easy to get it down pat right away. This is my fifth day. The first day, I lasted till 4pm and ate well and was satisfied. The next two days were the same. The fourth day, I had not slept well and was too sleepy to cope with the fast and I did eat during the day. My weight did go up that day. I am not obsessed with the weight because I know it will take a bit of time and learning in order to adapt and function with this new lifestyle.
I like it though. I hate dieting and feeling like I may be eternally miserable. I like food and do not see how any human can expect to constantly avoid yummy healthy things and be happy. I am overweight, yes, but not from chips and cake. Mostly because I have a good healthy appetite and eat good stuff (except rice, ugh). So...something within me is changing but I am grateful for this: that I can steadily lose weight and enjoy my meal, the time that is a break for me from the hectic and oftentimes, boring world we live in.
I have learned this; that if you pig out at your breakfast, you will be sorry. You cannot possibly eat and eat and eat during the eating period. I have to start with something light too, like soup. What I also noticed is that because I want to max out the enjoyment of my meal, I'm overeating a bit. I noticed that after very little food, I am quite full! I am definitely still under the effects of the limbic hunger. I am, on the other hand, a lot more free from the daytime limbic temptations. I can now pass up treats or meals confidently and with no regrets. That is very liberating!
