When I had to stop Fast5ing in order to take prescribed meds every 12 hrs, I
needed to find another way of eating that would help me reach my goals.
I found Dr Joel Fuhrman's Eat to Live. He advocates a diet high in plant
foods, at least 4 fruit servings and legumes.
Prior to eating the Eat-to-Live way, I was making sure I drank at least 3L
of water/day, not counting the water I drank during my workouts or the daily
3-4 cups of tea.
Now, I don't even think about how much water I drink. My bowel movements
are easy, urine is light yellow. I do not make a conscience effort to drink
X amount of water, either.
So Bert is right: if you are eating the right foods, they will contain
plenty of water.

You can't reliably measure how much water is in the "solid" food you eat
