I actually had better energy without grains. it has been awhile since that first time so I can't remember the details. It may be that it took me a week or two to "feel right". I suppose you could up other carbs like fruit. That way you would still be burning sugar which is what you are used to if you are eating a fair amount of grains. But if you want to give up grains and switch over to fat burning, you would have to give your body a couple of weeks to adjust. Some people have found that L. Carnitine helps with this transition.
