Re: [fast5] So hungry i get bloated...

You might try breaking your fast with things like fruit and vegies,
soup, or protein. Eating "in courses" helps a lot: start with soup or
salad, then move on to an entree (chicken, beef, fish). Save the
starches and desserts for 3rd or 4th course.

Also it helps if there is some vinegar on the salad, or eating a cup
of yogurt before the meal. Lactic acid and acetic acid both do
something interesting to the blood sugar/insulin balance such that it
lowers the glycemic curve after a meal and makes one more satisified.

Some foods, also, cause some people to overeat. The worst culprits in
this regard are the finely-ground grains (think bread/pastries/pizza).
Whole intact grains (cooked whole rice or bulgur) don't do it so much,
nor does pasta. Wheat as a grain tends to cause odd issues in the gut
though, so it can be more problematic than rice is. Corn I'm not sure
about: tortillas seem to be filling enough for me, but I OD on popcorn
whenever it is within eating range.

It is next to impossible though, to eat "too much" if you are eating
whole vegetables or fruits. They are too filling! Ditto for fish. Most
meats also have a "stop" point that keeps you from eating more than is
good for you. Fruit juices though, and pop, are easy to "chug".

Food intolerances also cause bloating (again, this is esp. true of
wheat, but also of dairy). And dybiosis (you can test this by taking a
probiotic?).
