[fast5] A week's experience

Hello all,

thanks for the welcome the other day - I just wanted to check in to say that eating early in the day is really working well for me.  I don't get hungry later in the day, I don't have to worry about dinner either.  Which is great, as it fits the way I live: I work full-time (9-5ish) and usually have social things to go to in the evening.  None of which usually revolve around food.  So normally I'd try to eat a quick dinner, which I don't have time to really enjoy, just to get out again quickly and then feel full the rest of the evening.  Now, I have a gorgeous big lunch at work (and breakfast before that, I've reduced my window to between 3-5 hours) and that leaves me satisfied until I go to bed.

What's even better is that I used to wake up hungry; now, because by the time I wake up I have been fasting since the previous day's lunchtime, my body doesn't demand food... it's kind of used to a fasting state by that time.  So I can wait to have breakfast in the late morning.

I do struggle with sweet drinks, though - Fast5's FAQ's do say that you should minimise sweet stuff, especially while fasting, because it makes the body think there's food coming.  I must admit I drink a lot of sweetened tea, coffee, and soft drinks.  Does anyone have experience with letting go of these things?

All the best,
b
