As others have pointed out it is more about the amount of time you fast for consecutively.
For me, I prefer a late eating window as find it fairly easy (most of the time!) not to eat in the day, being busy at work and such like. I've always been an evening eater which used to scupper my diets as I would be good all day and then ruin it all in the evening. On the Fast5 I eat at a time when I'm most likely to eat anyway and as I go to bed soon afterwards I don't have the whole internal arguement of I shouldn't still be eating now. I know I have self control issues once I start eating, so eating late definately works for me but everyone is different so as long as you are fasting for a long enough period I believe you should go with the eating window that best suits your lifestyle and mindset.

Why is it that Dr.Herring created this plan to initiate eating at night? If I choose to eat in a 12-5pm window, would I be sacrificing the fat burning affect that this plan offers by fasting 19 hours (even if I still only eat within 5 consecutive hours)? I got on the scale this morning, and it reads 158, 8 pounds more than I normally weigh! What causes this? I love this way of life, but the weight gain that always happens to me everytime I do this is driving me CRAZY!! Thank you all for any input.
