Definitely felt a rise in hot flashes from that time forward (I wasn't taking anything else to help the hot flashes after I stopped that supplement).
I've just realized that I have had NO hot flashes at all since I started Fast-5 in mid-October. Now, question is -- does outside temperature (ie, weather) make a difference? Because of course it IS getting cooler (even here in South Carolina). But since I began Fast 5 in October, definitely no hot flashes.
Can't even remember if I had any before that - between August and October.
But if it's a side benefit, I'm delighted!
Thank you also, Barnaby, for pointing out the importance of the 19-hour fast. I had been opening my window whenever I felt hungry, so probably some days didn't make it to 19 consecutive hours. Now I'm conscious of it, and I like the idea of thinking of it as a 22-hour fast. (I still need those 2 hours to eat in; can't quite make it on 1 yet.)
The good news is, we're planning a big Thanksgiving feast next week. I'm still attending Weight Watchers meetings (for the accountability), and of course everyone there is worried about Thanksgiving. I'm not -- I have no doubt it'll be easy to deal with during my window, and it'll be easy to avoid eating before and afterward.
A rather delicate question -- I've had issues for years with bad reactions to antibiotics, specifically yeast infections, itching, etc. A female friend recently had to have antibiotics and got a yeast infection, which she says she cleared up very simply by eating NO SUGAR, NO FLOUR and NO DAIRY. Says she's also lost 9 pounds -- and because of medical issues, she cannot exercise at all.
Any thoughts from anyone on whether Fast 5 can help with this and whether the NO SUGAR, NO FLOUR, NO DAIRY thing works? I'm willing to combine it with F5 if it can get rid of this issue for me.
Thanks for your comments --
Susan
